oh dear feli, i have one title for you!
do you know Carlos Ruiz Zafon? he's from Barcelona, so maybe Euz told you about him? in 2005 i read his "Der Schatten des Windes" Buch, i was surprised to find it translated to Deutsch... i read it originally in Spanish! is the kind of story you might like! has enough suspense and mystery (buu buu) and sort of intricate story that some find fascinating... i will send you more book recommendations as they accumulate for sure! in the meantime here a review of this one
not sure what it says, it's auf Deutsch ;)

oh frau feli, how nice! yeah i bet you will love to go to Barcelona soon to visit all those wonderful places!!! i hope you & euz find: The cemetery of the Forgotten Books! isn't that the best imaginary place in the literary world??? would love to get lost there...
oh feli and since you are done with that one, i have more old recommendations for you!
1st, i do know a bit the name of Carson Mc Cullers but i confess i haven't read any of her stuff, but if you like that style maybe you'd like Alice Munro books, i read Munro's short stories "Runaway" i didn't find it auf Deutsch but here some of her books auf Deutsch

and then... one of my favorite authors is Julian Barnes!
http://www.randomhouse.de/author_new/author.jsp?per=49186
and i think you'd looove
Arthur und George!
mainly 'cause der Roman is based on actual facts from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's life!! is a very very interesting book, as said, based in true facts of the life of our hero creator of Sherlock Holmes... then the short stories of "Der Zitronentisch" are a delight too!
but not to miss Arthur and George
http://www.amazon.de/Arthur-George-Julian-Barnes/dp/3462037064/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1200532915&sr=1-2
and finally, just a little moody book of short stories that read and read again, again and again
Yukio Mishima's Death in Midsummer... Tod im Hochsommer (very happy to find it auf Deutsch for you!)
http://www.amazon.de/Tod-im-Hochsommer-Yukio-Mishima/dp/3498092901/ref=sr_1_26?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1200532989&sr=1-26
i know you like Murakami, so this Mishima might be one of his "precursors" or something like that, since Mishima was the inspiration for many now-a-days japanese authors, very moody and short stories but timeless philosophy and feeling, i am sure you will be delighted
sorry for all the messy links and text frau feli, and for mentioning Carson Mc Cullers, i will find some of her books used for sure!
danke und bis bald mit mehr Bücherrevision, i love it :)

oh and found this quote on Barnes that couldn't leave behind:
"Lesen Sie einen Roman von Barnes, und Sie wollen alle lesen." -Die Weltwoche.

Hehe, thanks for your lovely recommendations!! Reading would the one and only reason I would like to get 200 years old, hehe.
