now I was thinking hard how do you peel tunas (as in tuna fish) :-)) then I realized this is a cactus fruit or prickly pear. I think in German they are called "Kaktusfeige" (Indian fig).

oh thanks for the german name dhania!
and funny 'cause when i moved to usa, every time they mentioned "tuna" sandwiches, etc. i thought, why would somebody put a tuna (prickly pear) in a sandwich??? still up today for me tunas are these, and the fish i call it "atún" the spanish name for it :)
