Black and white and on a Russian-made 35m camera. Taken when I was 13 on a school English - French exchange programme. I hit the jackpot because this is where my French friend and his family spent the summer! They converted this old farmhouse into a 10 bedroom family holiday home in the South of France! I returned many times in the following decade!

Nice area indeed. We went over the Mount Ventoux by car once. So possibly saw the structure by looking around on the top if it still existed in this millenium, well, in case you could see the top of the mountain from the house, that is. :o)

It still exists but as an auberge - catering to rock climbers and walkers. It is no longer in the hands of the family I knew. From the mirador on the top of Mont Ventoux, on the very clearest of days, you can just about see this old building. It lies in the valley of the Toulourenc river , whuch runs along Mont Ventoux's north side.

Many thanks, Sonja!

I do not know what I like more, Andy: the then still untouched location of the farmhouse, or the Russian camera with which the slide was made. (Lubitel, Mir, Zenith?). During our Ventoux holiday we have often driven along the north side of the Mt Ventoux Reilhanette> Puymeras, and understand why you often went back.

Andy, I have been away for some time. Back, and want to catch up. Love all your work. This is precious, I too have a few pictures that are very old and also precious to me. Will be watching and posting.

Thank you remmelt. I really can't remember the make but Kosmik keeps coming into my mind. I haven't been back since 1983. I expect it is all touristy and 100% made up roads and so on!

Welcome back, Marv!
? Or maybe you are Marvin, not Marv. I have made this kind of mistake before, thinking that simarlarly named people at two different sites were one and the same! !!
Forgive me if I'm wrong but don't we correspond at another site?
Marvin Matthews February 17, 2019, 03:56 AM
Yes Andy, we do correspond on ipernity. And yes, sometimes there those who call me Marv -- that too would be great.
Andy Rodker February 17, 2019, 08:51 AM
I'm pleased about that, Marv or Marvin! I though I was going mad (well, more mad than normal!).
Best wishes from And, Andy or Andrew. I've been known by all three: the first one is just plain weird, the third one was only used at work and by my parents when I was a naughtly little boy! So I think on balance I prefer the second!
