Hi Andy, Another fine Cornish photo. You sure took a lot of them on your walks around this coast.

Best Wishes, Herb

Many thanks Herb!
I lived here in 2009 and 10 but didn't have a camera!
But from 2011 the photos mount up. I spent 2 months in Cornwall in the summers of 2011 and 2012 because I could claim the dole. (teaching dries up in Madrid in the Summer months and we are not paid for the hours we don't teach!
But after 2012 the rules changed (no more dole) so I had to stay in Spain and eke out my existence with whatever private classes I could get. I could therefore only afford a week or two at most. And in two years I couldn't afford to return to Cornwall at all. And then in 2016 ill-health stopped me from teaching altogether! But thankfully I had paid my social security and taxes (many don't: the black economy is rife!) so I could claim statutory sick pay and not be thrown out onto the streets of madrid!
So, since 2012, only 4 weeks in total for photos of Cornwall!

Hi again Andy -thanks for your story above. So its clear, two months and then four weeks added. I have probably spent at least four weeks in Cornwall too over that period and like you, took many photos, spread around my sites. I too, taught for some years and also know the effect of only being paid for 'class-room teaching' time. There is something to be said for being an employee where you can get holidays and sickness with pay as i did for the last ten years of my working career. Anyway-look forward to following even more of your Cornish shots both on here and in Ipernity.

Thanks, Herb!
Well, this year I will have to stay in Spain and look for work on summer courses. Some academies run summer schools - intensive week long courses for adults. It involves immersion English 18 hours a day one-to-one with an English teacher, usually at an attractive site (farm, etc) in the countryside. I plan to do as many of these as I can (needs must! - No summer holiday for me this year). I haven't done this before so I am about to make enquiries about availability, fees, that sort of thing.
It means no Cornwall again and I will have to be even more sparing with my archive shots. You have seen that I am duplicating new uploads on both sites. I can't upload shots exclusive to one or the other until I increase the supply and that won't be for quite a while, sadly!
I'm replying to your private messages on the site because I can't reply direct and don't how to do it otherwise. There must be a way and I will look into it.
All best wishes,
Andy
