Thank you Fizgig!
I had to stand on tiptoes with the camera at arms stretched high as I could only guess at the result from the other side of the rock window. I knew what was there and what I wanted to achieve but lining it all up was guesswork. I was lucky in that this one worked, out of about 20 attempts!

Beautiful window to the nextdoor world.

Sometimes luck is better than skill when it comes to these types of shots, huh? =D

Not sure, Fizgig! I tried very hard to get this and so I won't say it was luck. More like bloody hard work, trying to keep my balance and using my sense of perspective and recall and spacial awareness. The fact is I got one shot that did what I wanted (out of twenty) which I reckon was a good result in the circs!

Ah, well, you've got more skill than I do... I usually get these types of shots right out of sheer luck ;)

Totally love this - what great skill to get the distance so well along with the foreground. a very complicated thing to do. looks so easy from our perspective when the photo works right, but i know the difficulties well.

Thank you, Laura!
I was lucky with my camera-phone. Excellent auto focus and it did this kind of thing amazingly well. I do miss my old Nokia N95! Useless as a phone but a superb camera!

Great composition. For some cause it reminds me of the Anza Borrego more than anything in Europe....

Thank you, Sonja.
Where and what is the Anzo Borrego?
(and I thought geography was one of my stronger suites!)

It's in California, near Jacumba. I did hike there once and there where also huge builders toppled together that formed windows and shelter to crawl around inside, containing stone mills and cisterns one could not tell if they where just build by nature alone or by the early humans adorning them with petroglyphs . A really strange barren place, but also very intriguing.

Sounds interesting!
Sorry, not been active here lately - very busy with work!
