I received your detailed advice, for which many thanks! It IS rather daunting to me, even though you have made it as idiot-proof as possible. My fear is that there have been too many issues with my computer and with my various attempts to follow simple logic in the past (too long to go into detail) that I am frightened of upsetting the entire apple-cart. I can't afford to make a mistake here so I will call on the help of a local friend who has helped me before and who knows some of the non-standard configurations I got saddled with after my previous cock-ups, which included being stung by a stupid scam, etc etc!
In the meantime, having 1/3 of one page in Polish isn't a major problem (I am aware of course that this could be indicative of more serious issues!) and the issues on the other site are equally non-problematic, so I think, on balance, I'll wait for him to come back to Madrid at the end of his Barcelona contract in the Spring!
I will be able to show him your summation of what needs to be done and this will prove invaluable I feel!
I feel somewhat guilty at not taking the plunge after all you have done to be of help, but I hope you understand my reasoning here!
