When I came to enter the photo details, the instructions were in Polish!!!

Do you have auto encoding turned on in the browser? That might be the problem.... There's nothing off with the site itself.

Anyway, nice scene and capture! Neat how it's clearly raining in the distance which sunny in the foreground...

Wow! I really like the colour in this one, Andy.
David.

Thanks Fizgig I don't know about auto encoding in the browser. I will find out. But today it's all in Mandarin!
(Only kidding - it's in English!)
Yes, it rained hard for a few minutes and the cloud rushed seawards!

It caught my attention, certainly! Thanks David.
It had rained hard 10 minutes before and this may account for the brightness of the colours when the sun came out.

LOL! In case you ever check the "popular photos", take care not to get left of the block with the cursor and twitch your fingers. Happened once to me too -- only that I turned all to Basque, which was no big help either.

Nice shot!

I must have done something like you suggest, Sonja!
Talking about the 'popular photos' How come they are usually so drab and boring?
Sonja December 19, 2017, 11:31 AM
I guess the thing is simply run full. We have been perhaps given an user number with a digit to much or something like this, or our pics should show up sometimes. I am well aware Andy, we and the others from Ipernity that stayed got the busiest threads and the most stars. I never cared much to make "Explore"on either Flickr or Ipernity personally, as it just opens me up to more rogue advertising below shots and activity by people blatantly not caring what I do at all, with exception of giving them little stars at the side....

But drab and boring? Well, they are all by people who are members for a very long time, and most of those are no active social users with popular content as we are used to be the only ones making it into the select few best pics.
Some of the old members are really nice folks. Their stuff is sometimes not really pretty and decorative subjects meant to just share the most beautiful and the funniest sights and brighten everyones day, but more like social commentary or experimental with the camera medium. On other services I had many contacts like that, they can be very interesting, but they where not the ones you meet by looking at "Explore" traffic of course like it is here....

Andy, this is the meaning, "caught at the exact moment", but then, you are good at that, and we all thank you for such splendid art. Sonja so well touched upon that subject --- she is so correct. Merry Christmas.

Sonja, Yes, I suppose I commented without much thought. I didn't know Flickr had a similar 'explore' feature. I must say on ipernity (still my main site) I have never been plagued by spam - maybe twice in total and nothing since the site was cleared of spam my Pam G, who you may remember. As for my comments 'drab and boring', I had forgotten the origin of the site as a photo-sharing community between a small number of friends where the photo sharing is a side-issue to something else (again, I forget what!). I imagine they feel proprietorial about their site and so keep things pretty much as they like and are used to! Since it is a free site, who are we to argue!! I may still have misunderstood things but anyway, thank you for reminding me of things I had forgotten since I joined.
I wish you all the very best for Christmas and The New Year
