Well, why not?
1978. The Cuillin Ridge, Skye.
Great fun.

We all posed here for a photo. I can't remember how I got this shot on my camera (a Pentax ME) but I like it!

Impressive picture, Andy! However there remains a question: How was this photo taken, horizontal or vertical? Best wishes, Remmelt
Sonja May 17, 2017, 08:39 AM
Oh, Mr. Atlas himself went on a hike with you?
Andy Rodker May 17, 2017, 09:53 AM
Hi remmelt. I replied from my smart phone but I don't see my reply here. Strange!

OK. I replied as follows: 'Thank you! Vertical but upside-down, ie. 180 degrees!'
Andy Rodker May 17, 2017, 09:53 AM
Not quite, Sonja but thank you!! :o)

Good shot, Andy. Trying to figure out how many pairs of pants you had on :-) .
Andy Rodker May 18, 2017, 09:40 AM
Thanks BJW.
In answer to your strange comment, I was wearing one pair of pants under one pair of trousers. My memory may be at fault, but wasn't that the normal male attire in the latter part of the 20th century? And still is, I think, despite David Beckham once wearing a sarong! :o)
You also see here a pair of gaiters - common among climbers and mountain-walkers to protect the lower legs against water getting into your boots. Maybe that is what confused you!
Best wishes,
Andy

Ha ha, Andy, it was the gaiters that I couldn't figure!
Andy Rodker May 18, 2017, 02:28 PM
I guessed so, BJW.
I was only pulling your leg! (sorry!).

Ah, interesting concept, such a "gaiter"... when I was a teen, knitted "legwarmers"where a must for stylish girls to wear. They never protected anything at all, but aided the distribution of the burdock by the means of the female hiker considerably -- LOL

Ha ha, Sonja!

Whoa, Andy, hanging by a thread? My, how hiking/climbing boots have changed since then. They have completely lost the "work boot" look. A very good shot of the intrepid explorer!

(Excellent comment by Sonja - heehee!)
Andy Rodker June 02, 2017, 05:13 AM
Tanks, Diane.
Where you a burdock seed distributor too?
DianePutnam June 02, 2017, 08:11 AM
Oh, I'm sure I have been! More recently, I carried goathead stickery things around with me. They are too wicked to be "burrs" and they were embedded in the soles of my shoes, the floor of my car, my indoor rug... I don't know what the plant is called., but they're all over a country cemetery I visited!

Oh, Burzeldorn (Tribulus), I am sure in the parts where Andy hikes in spain, the stuff is around to. Last time I did pick ome up was on Fuerteventura in some dry river bed. Nasty stuff, although I learned they make some wonder drug for men from it....
Andy Rodker June 02, 2017, 06:12 PM
Goathead looks ghastly! Burdock is benign compared to this stuff! I find Burdock in Cornwall but not in Spain.
DianePutnam June 05, 2017, 02:44 AM
It is! Took me ages to pull the devils out of my shoes - with needle nose pliers!
Andy Rodker June 05, 2017, 07:08 AM
So after you had pulled the devils out, Diane you started on the Goatheads?
