Nice looking anyway....
As we get to buy ground poppy seed mix for baking needs, to make filled crumb cake, yeastbread and somesuch, and then there are those do make recreational drugs from bigger asian poppies, I can not believe they are that lethal as some other weeds around in any average hay meadow...

All I know is that a farmer told me that farmers hate poppies because once they appear in a cornfierld (here barley, but often wheat), they cannot harvest it as the poppies 'poison' the cereal. I'm not a farmer but I can understand why they hate poppies, if this is the case!!!

Oh, so beautiful, and yes, "On Flanders fields the poppies blow....." Just something special with a natural field of those, " despite what the farmers say" Our enemy here is the deadly nightshade, and they are not pretty.

I'm a sucker for poppies too Andy. Almost fell over myself last year in Lincolnshire trying to capture them perfectly as you have done here.

I got no shots of poppies this year, Herb - either wrong timing or it just wasn't their year!
