Great walking country. Terrific granite scenery and lair of vultures and eagles. A stone throw away from the city of Madrid, yet hardly anybody goes there!!

Oh wow, Andy, this is absolutely beautiful! Do any people hang glide from those peaks? Do you really "walk" or are you kidding us?

Nice looking place to explore. I hope you got boots with great shock absorbers however. All those rocks without a soil layer in the path should not be much nicer to the knees than paved roads....

I know every rock! At one time I walked and scrambled across every path and granite ridge. I used to come here twice a week. I would get the first bus out of Madrid and the last bus back. About 10 hours of walking each time. Good exercise. But ill health stopped me from going last year. Now I'm better but have to catch up on all that missed work and so have no time to return. I hope to find the opportunity soon!

I have terrific boots - birthday present from my girlfriend but never got used to sticks so don't use them. I am used to granite. Nearly all my walking in the past 30 years has been on the granite here or in Cornwall. So far I have had no problems! I like granite because of the super friction it gives! Also, I've never seen any handgliders; too much competition fromthe effortlessly soaring vultures and eagles!
