From Wikipedia article of Uruguay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uruguay#Food):
"Grappamiel is an alcoholic drink which is very popular in rural areas. It is made with alcohol and honey. It is often consumed in the cold mornings of autumn and winter to warm up the body."
Here in this page it's a better description http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grappamiel but in spanish.
Vesubio and Salerno are two of the most commons brands of grappamiel here.
