Huh? Is this a "real tower" there? Reminded me of HalfLife first ...
Jordi Funollet April 20, 2009, 12:13 PM
Yes Iko, sadly enought it's real. Here in Barcelona real people can't afford a flat, so we keep building unreal skyscrapers.

Amazing impact. Love the wire frame.

It looks really unreal! ;-) Great photo, Jordi!!! I love it!

Art at its best. There are a lots of things to see.
nomoveon April 20, 2009, 10:41 PM
great image.
I would lower the saturation on the red roof a little bit, it attracts my eye so much, it's hard to move around in the image.
I also like the fence, good composition.
Jordi Funollet April 21, 2009, 11:21 AM
Uh, guys, you make me blush... and you make me happy.

nomoveon: now that you pointed at this, I absolutely agree with you, but I hadn't registered it consciously. I will add to my mental check-list a "look for oversaturated areas" box.

Volker April 22, 2009, 05:31 PM
Jordi, I don't think you should lower the saturation. The photo needs the red roof. It's the eye-catcher! But that's only my humble opinion. :-)
Gergana Vasileva plus April 22, 2009, 07:39 PM
Agree with Volker. It gives a balance in such ... dramatic atmosphere! :D
nomoveon April 23, 2009, 12:48 AM
It may depend on how we see this image.
For me it is about the fence and the tower and then there are many details I enjoy and I like to move around in the image.
seems like its more about the red roof for you.
different ways of seeing, I guess.
nomoveon April 23, 2009, 01:11 AM
I don't understand the balance thing though. if there are some things that harmonize and you then add something totally different, I don't understand how it balances things out.
Euzkerika Orozco April 26, 2009, 11:41 AM
Molt maca! :)
Volker April 26, 2009, 04:04 PM
@ Nomoveon: I think you're right. And it's interesting to hear how other people see a picture. I also agree with you about the tower & the fence. They are the important things in the photo. But the red roof is the starting point for me. For example: If I had a quick look over a lot of pictures, the red roof would be the thing that let me take a longer look at this one. I hope you understand what I mean.

Saps? fa dies que em miro aquesta foto, rumiant de penjar-me-la a la paret, perquè m'encanta, però em penso que també em fa por, veure-la cada dia seria moooolt inquietant!
MickPt April 26, 2009, 10:09 PM
Great picture.
nomoveon April 28, 2009, 11:24 AM
@volker
I understand absolutely. sometimes it's the little twists in images that make them more catchy and interesting to look at.

Hola!

Oh, somehow I missed this one, apparently. Now idea how or why. I am all for the clouds, this is so gorgeous, wouldn't have noticed the roof if it whas neon-green ;)
Jordi Funollet August 23, 2009, 04:47 PM
Cloudy days are for taking photos, sunny days are for post-processing them.

This brings back memories ...
I remember this was very similar to my closer first view of the Agbar, overcast skys, the fence, the waste ground .. and I was a little disappointed ... so from a reality point of view the image is spot on ....The Agbar is however more interesting closer up and then of course at dusk the whole building comes alive ... (and to add to the conversation, the red roof also disappears then ... LOL:-) )
Jordi Funollet August 28, 2009, 12:02 PM
Some times after the comments over the reed roof I tried to repeat the processing of this photo. I learned that messing too much with the curves produces different saturations for every color, so probably that's what nomoveon noticed. So I thing it's an error that will try to avoid, but I want this photo with its errors. :-)

About the Agbar points of view, I agree with you on its aesthetic qualities but I'm really fed of photos glorifying the Agbar Tower. Actually, it represents an urbanistic model that I don't like at all; that's why I tried to show it as dark as it is... or even more. ;-)
