Very nice. Makes me want to visit Corsica. Perhaps I'll encounter the shade of Bonaparte there.

Hi Shane,
maybe you'd rather visit St. Helena to increase your chances to achieve that :)
Though, I think Corsica is more attracting.
IF you approach Corse, be aware that this city "Bonifacio" might be full of cruise liner "walk thru" tourists. But still worth a visit!

Yes, I know the "day tripper" phenomenon from repeated visits to Venice. Gibraltar is also an irritating example of that sort of thing. BTW, you have some excellent photos on here. The Norwegian material is outstanding.

but.. come on, it's really not THAT good. Just some ixus40 snapshots, and some where I did think a bit before shooting :)

You sell yourself short, as we say in the USA. A simple point-and-shoot like the Ixus (sold in the U.S. as the Canon Elph) can accomplish about 80% of what an SLR can under the right conditions.
