I think that in this picture because of the blue nuances that the windows have, they are better seen whereas the B&W nuances cuts out the architectural shapes and uniformisizes the structure even with a higher contrast.
I generally do not like to alter any photo, not even applying auto-colour-correction. I better spend more time taking that photo and use the camera settings than to alter it afterwards ;D.
Since then I have learned a bit about how to process them.
How much processing to apply, or even whether to process at all, is a personal decision. I found Galen Rowell's comments very helpful - what the camera sees is not what we see. Also, any picture is necessarily editorial, as you choose what to put in and what to leave out.
If you like the windows, you can always make them bluer and desaturate everything else.
Here, I did not even cut the cars :D.
I guess I will begin transforming some of my photos, beginning with this one :).
