A fish-eye view taken from the west, as sunlight breaks through a threatening sky. The 10.5mm lens has a180 degree angle of view, so although the bridge looks curved, it is in fact horizontal. The left and right hand ends of the bridge cannot be seen like this with the naked eye: it takes the fish-eye lens to bring both ends into view at the same time.

beautiful stevie!
this fish-eye view is breathtaking!
i always wanted to experiment with a fish eye lens, i have even been tempted by a lomo fish-lens camera a less professional and grungy cousin of a real lens as this beauty you have, but it could be fun
very very nice!!

WOW! Great, you've been there! I saw last week a doku in TV, about how they build this bridge. It was unbelievable. Drove you over the bridge, Stevie? You're a lucky guy, you have such a nice lens! Great photo!!!

Bere, you can make a fish eye lens yourself.Look here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22793014@N08/2405247591/

Thanks, bere and Volker! I think this was one occasion when the fish-eye gave me a shot that I simply couldn't have captured any other way, and allowed me a perspective that I couldn't experience with my own eyes!

No, Volker, we didn't drive over the bridge. I particularly wanted to get shots from underneath, so we went along small roads and ignored the autoroute!
