Gray fox in a sweet-gum tree. I heard my dog Garip barking up a tree, so I expected to see a squirrel. Instead was this gray fox.

Whaaat? I didn't know foxes could climb trees! Fantastic shots, Ron!

I was very surprised, too. Only recently have I learned that this is a gray squirrel, which has retractable claws and for which tree-climbing is common. The more common red fox cannot climb.

LOL -- yo really found him in a tree? What an interesting angle on a living fox!

Yes, really in a tree. It was a great surprise to me (and my dogs, too).
