I'm genealogy fan... It is a scan of a photography of a picture ?

Yes it is a scan.It is my great great grand parents and all of their children (including my great grand father).

I just love this photo :)
It must be about 100 years old (when looking at the birthdays of the children) :)

Well I must admit i have begun doubting if it is okay to uload such photos to 23hq? Because I do not know who the photographer is. He is probably dead by now. i know that every one on the picture is.

Very nice... If your interest by genealogy, you should try MyHeritage.com free family tree up to 1000 people ! :)

Sometime I can't scan because the paper is too reflecting or the ink is "glossy"... so when the scanner lamp spot the picture, there is reflexion :( So I use my canon 30D to "scan" the pic... it's a strange way ...

Keep that photo !! It's a really great gift from the past!

Ohh I have also sometime used my DSLR to "scan" some photos... but almost never got a good result.

For my familytree I use geni.com
At the moment i have 1955 bloodrelatives and just above 85.000 in the forest I am a member of :)
I have not tryed MyHeritage.com. But can recomand Geni.com all though it is a bit slow at times.
