Fascinating little fellow. They must be found fairly young to be a sight. At first the fruiting bodies often are a bit pointy like a pygric cap and very intense teal blue. Then they go very flat, often to the extend of concave forms and a bit greener like oxidated copper plates, and finally a rather unspectacular and shabby cold beige like you see here in the middle already shine through as they mature.
Sometimes they get distributed with the untreated woodchips for gardens deep into towns, but only in wet years there is a chance the mycel works it's magic and then the tiny little Smurfs take over a landscaped area or private backyard for a few days to the amusement or bewillderment of people. :0)

I was very happy to find some only a few steps from our lumber patch. We lost our Earth Stars I loved so much after the big storm desaster that turned most of our land into a messy clearing to be replanted with trees and I was sad about this all the years since. I love extraordinary 'shrooms, the more wonky species are around, the better.
