I got a reply from Steffen (one of the founders of 23hq) saying "We're not actively developing on our legacy photo sharing product, but are hoping to be able to at least the current issues on commenting and on bulk upload.".

I think these are great news. We don't need any development (since 23hq is great from the start) but we do need the existing features to work.

In the mean time I stumbled upon another user's page in 23hq where he says he has developed an Android App for 23hq that allows for some features besides viewing. I have installed the app and found out that you can post comments using the app.

The user's page in 23hq is http://www.23hq.com/ise_80 and from there you can get to the app page on Github.

A few final issues.

If we want 23hq to continue existing we should try to bring more people on board. Invite friends, family or work colleagues. We should also try to have as many people as possible to become paying users. A 23hq subscription is still quite cheap compared to other similar services.

The same applies to the app, which looks great, but has not been actively developed for 3-4 years. We should all thank the author, encourage him to continue developing the app and, if possible, donate for his effort.

Android App? Ich muss gestehen, die Erklaerungen auf dieser Site "Gifthub"sind alle vollstandig unverstaendlich fuer mich. Wie komme ich denn mit einem normalen altmodischen PC dazu sowas zu laden?

@Sonja: I will try to send you a direct link to the instalation file that you can open in your Android phone. The app is not finished and sometimes it does not work but I think is worth trying...

@Martina: the problem with comments is the ReCaptcha service that tries to avoid spam. If you are a Plus (paying) user your comments don't need to be checked with ReCaptcha. That's why comments work if you are a Plus user. That is a good solution for long time users but not being able to comment will keep new users from trying the site. That's why the problem has to be fixed.

I said it months ago..... The way around [most] of the reCaptcha issue is to be a paying [PLUS] user of the site. Then you only encounter [the broken] reCaptcha when trying to post in forums. That's not to say the site owners shouldn't be more willing to fix the problem when it was reported MONTHS ago.... But it is a way for users of the site to help themselves.

That aside.... WONDERFUL autumn colors =) Nicely captured....
