View northwest to the leftovers of Gruenderzeit architecture between the lakeside park and the main rails. The brandnew building to the left is about on the site of the Schoellhorn Hotel I think. I have to admit, I never noticed that old house although it was still standing for years after we moved here, as walkingthe area of town is no fun due to the trafic jam fumes, I only noticed tke outcry of longtime citizens when it was torn down. / Blick nach Nordwesten zu den Ueberresten der Gruenderzeitarchitekur zwischen dem Uferpark und Hauptbahndamm. Das nagelneue Haus links ist ungefaehr wo das Hotel Schoellhorn stand. Um ehrlich zu sein, ich habe das Schoellhorn nie bewusst gesehen obwohl es noch lange stand als wir herzogen. Das ist keine attraktive Spaziergegend, mit dem Gestank von der zugestauten Durchfahrtsstrasse. Ich hoerte erst davon als sichso viele einheimische Menschen ueber den Abriss aufregten. |
