Aeonium arboreum cv. .... Often called 'Black Rose', the actual cv. name is 'Zwartkop'. Unfortunately an unhappy specimen, but showy nonetheless =) Nicely captured -- can really see why it's often called a black rose succulent.

And how did it tell you it is not happy?
I know these from Fuerteventura. An imensely popular plant to fill dripwatered rabates along the pathways in holiday apt. villages. They come in bright green,, dark green, or green with reddish blush or lining. Aubergine like this one is less often to see, probaply for the budgety beds are all black pumice and the dark ones do not stand out so well. But otherwise they do look always just like this one.
