European Atlantic Murres usually wear no "spectacles" at all visible from afar, like most pacific and some few USA eastcoast birds do, so I tried my darnedest to get a shot good enoug to show the form is still around their eyes, just not lined out in white. From afar it is often only visible with the spotting scope but this bird was at a sort of okay distance looking over the corner of the same cliff the path runs on, so I had to try a portrait with this comperably budgety zoom lens going only to 300mm. the surrounds seem a tad flat and got noise, but the colourless spectacles come out well.
