No idea if it is from the early times of electrification or just a replica for nicer classic looks in there. Everything in that climate seems to aquire mosses, weeds and things very fast.

Could be like the old lamps that some cities have/are modifying to allow them to run on electricity without changing their overall appearance. NYC has lots of them in the various historic districts. Some can now be fitted with the new LED bulbs that mimic the appearance of candlelight for added visual appeal =)

The city street lamps outside the church yard where very different, some older basic moderne lacking every proportion, just for giving light. I thought there are some in my wider shots of the church as it was impossible to exclude the things.
