I guess that little pony is much more sensitive to cool and/or wet conditions than the others... That's a nice custom-made cover. Someone really cares for their little pony =)

Nice find and capture...

I actually daubt it was cold that day, I have at least one shot of my husband on that walk and he was in short sleeves.
I have seen horse parkas before, but most leave at least the tail fully uncovered. How aboyt if the poor animal needs a fly swatter, or worse, when it has to give forth a horseapple?

Sometimes it's just damp... Some horses have issues with having their backs be wet. Or maybe it's a show pony and it had been groomed in preparation for a show day and they didn't want it to mess itself up --- 'cause any horse owner knows that the first thing a horse wants to do after it has been bathed and prettied up is to find a good dusty spot to roll in ;) We have covers similar to this one for our show horses, too... This type/material isn't meant to be warm, really, but it's effective at keeping the animal dry and keeps biting flies away from newly clipped/shorn horses, too. That tail portion looks pretty skirt-like.... I think it definitely allows freedom of movement for the tail to be used as a fly swatter and I doubt it goes all the way around the tail so it's not getting in the way of field fertilization =)

Whatever the reason for it.... It's still a nice find =)

I am really glad not to be a horse. Deciding what to wear alone, able to buy bug ointment, opposable thumbs....

LOL =D It's really the fault of humans, though..... I have mustangs as well as show breeds and the mustangs are completely carefree. They don't have issues with flies or knowing what plants to stay away from so as not to poison themselves, having to be taken in during drenching or cold rains and/or snow, etc. The show breeds are in need of a lot more fussing and care and consideration and are, generally, not as hardy. I don't know why people always think they can improve on nature's design.... or beauty, for that matter. Well, OK, they might appreciate opposable thumbs... maybe.... But then they'd be less beautiful and more freakish ;)
