Hohenbodman Tower / Turm Hohenbodman

This castle was once one built in the 12th century by the same family as Altbodman, but this one belongs to the munipality of Owingen now. Today there is just a nicely renovated lookout tower one may climb, no wall remnants from other buildings. / Die Burg wurde im 12ten Jahrhundert von der selben Famile gebaut wie Altbodman, allerdings gehoert sie heute der Gemeinde Owingen. An sich gibt es nur einen gut renowierten Bergfried zum hinaufgehen, keine Mauern von Nebengebauden.

Hohenbodman is a great little village and the tower an impressive landmark. But view from the tower is a varied thing of dayly conditions. If you look at the outer right side of this shot, you get a bit of a preview on the panorama we had this time: a spot of pastel Lake Constance north shore in the haze, a few foothills across in swizzerland barely to guess the outline of, no alps at all.
