Siteseer groups on a stopover are marched to see Saint Martin from the business end and inside, the donkey mill museum and all the 4 gates in one sitting, take their cofe or lunch at market or council square and then be gone.
There are 26 nice wells and fountains in Wangen, some baroque stonework with sculptures, some modern stuff of the cute and surprising kind like that Saint Anthony with the pigs, but the bulk are more or less recently renovated iron wells from the 19th century, when easy access to clean water for all did not yet mean pipes into the houses but was still a great sign of a wealthy comunity, when each backstreet had it's well. I am not sure I know them all yet, although I went for a little walk in that old town a few times already. There is a special well and fountain route for the semi-locals and the unhurried individual tourists who care. One can get it as a booklet at the tourist info and perhaps meanwhile it might be available as cellphone app, would have to check.
