At the Haslach / Auf der Haslach

This is the site of a welf castle of which as much as noting remains. As it is supposed to be one of the possible birth sites of Frederick I, there is a monument of slightly newer date (from 1903) / Einst stand hier eine Burg die den Welfen gehoerte. Nachdem sie manche als Geburtsort vom Friedrich I ansehen, gibt es ein etwas neueres Monument (von 1903)

It stays like this not very long, alas. On one side is a hard falling slope towards a very loud road down in the bottom of the Laura valley, the other only about 200m down gently to the Scherzach ford and after this meeting a straight forestry road that leads to the town of Weingarten north or south to the game park trough the silvicultural landscape. We got loads of designated hiking "trails" in the area, but most coincide with hard ground limited access drives, real trails on the soil not hurting the knees are rare.
