Here in NY, there is a river, a county and a town by that name =) Maybe even a church or two.... Charming little church! Nicely framed using the trees. Admired in Architectural Marvels

Lawrence was a very early Martyr Saint, so he is of course one catholics of most countries know. I have seen the big stream flowing outward from the great lakes, likely the largest thing named for him and very impressive.

This little church (not in it's current form, but the foundations) is probaply one of the oldest buildings named in his honour. It is not really hard archeological science, but some claim the very first christian church inside the deserted fort was built long before the times of Constantin. Likelier is, that the foundation with apse was originally a temple of a gallo-roman deity that got christanized at some point. Anyway the current building is not that terribly old, just a handful of centuries. The year it was rebuilt from scratch is according to Boxler 1751.
