That church with the circular helmmet in the back must be Kressbronn, always striking to see how far close to home the Rhine outlet is in spite of the long drive. / Und ein Graureiher dazwischen, der versucht nicht aufzufallen. Die Kirche mit dem Kugelhelm muss Kressbronn sein. Es ist immer seltsam zu sehen wie nahe wir im Delta an zuhause wieder sind, trotz der recht langen Fahrt dort hin.

Ich staune gerade, dass das lateinisch ein corax ist, also ein Rabe.

Das war schon der alte Roemer der das versaubeutelt hat. "Kormoran" ist auch aus deren Wort fuer das Tier enstanden "Corvus Marinus", was naturlich rein wissenschaftlich rechter Bockmist ist. Ist halt ziemlich schwarz und singt nicht so toll, also ein Meeresrabe.....
Du kanst ja Riesenscharbe sagen, wenn es Dir lieber ist.

Great shot, we have cormorants here too, but not in such numbers.

According to our fishermen we have by far to much of them. They even have bumpersticker to campain for culling, they put on the interpretive markers and waysigns in the wetlands rather than on their own cars.
