At the Mareinwaal / Am Mareinwaal

A part of the drip water system already in use in the 14th century. Under trees it goes down southward back to the orchards of Laces / Ein Teil des Bewaesserungsystems, der schon im 14ten Jahrhundert existierte. Unter Baeumen fuehrt er erst eimmal in Richtung der Obstgaerten von Latsch zurueck

A Waal canals is mostly evrywhere the same. One side a mountain shoulder going up, on the other side falling to the valley, steadily loosing heigh, but as slowly as possible, to transport parts of a mountain brook into different fields below the stretch, off and on remnants of a lockable divide, until this all ends finally in the valley bottom amongst the apple gardens.
In dry times there was lots of strife and jealousy about which apple farmer''s side canal was opened for how long however, there might well be ghosts of a few water line keepers and orchard owners...
