Lake Resia / Reschensee

Graun beach. Some go there at the outside of the tower embankment to put a naked toe or finger into the water. A very brief fun in early April when parts of the lake are still frozen / Strand bei Graun. Manche Leute gehen hier am ende der Turmumfriedung zum Wasser um einen nackten Finger oder Zeh hineinzustecken. Anfang April, wenn auf dem See teilweise noch Eis schwimmt, ein recht kurzer Spass.

As I recall, that lake is pretty darn cold year round.... I don't recall ever seeing the water so low, though! Either way, a beautiful place and capture!

Yes, it is only okay for very brief dipping and splashing in very shallow areas where the direct sun heats through all way to the ground as in Resia at the campground beach I heared. But I was never there in high summer when there are many family vacationers and the surfer crowd.
Not sure if the Lake was low or just the area disturbed to look so barren. Somewhen in the last few years was a big tower renovation where they encased it in steel below the low water line and repaired the tower ruin -- and it looks now a bit like the walk on the dam around the former village centre is a sort of semi-permanent thing with a propper bridge. We did go all around the partition and it was particulary nice with very different water colours inside and outside the barrier. The parking lots are now also much larger and very professional with a huge village plan below a roof, a kiosk and restroom. They must have taken lots of land back from the lake to put all this across from the restaurant and elevated cemetry.
