Well, there is modern abstracted art that could be explained well even to Beuys' late hare -- despite the fact that it is not mainsteam-pretty and at first viewing to a stranger does not makes a lot of sense. Other such artworks that seem not to be inspired by something tangible in nature just are there for someone found an etat for something that should come across as "not so comercial ", IOW it's just some ungainly stuff put into a landscape in order to create revenue of sorts. With understanding apreciation may come... or rather not.

To sort what this really is about and why it was exactly put up here we should know the exhibition catalogue to the art trail, if there is any. Unfortunately there seems nothing on the internet to enlighten the situation. I tried to set up the contrast to make the copper plate readable in the original size pic. So I can tell you now that the Artist, some Mr. Walter Weidener, called this "Kosmische Traeume"(Cosmic Dreams), which is of course not a whole lot. I also dont know if the guy's dreamcosmos was rusty and covered into lichens to begin with, only that the thing stands exposed already since something called "Piz Arte"and some illegible word more with a year given 1995.
