White Stork / Weisstorch

Making a nest on a building crane.
Obvously a botched attempt as here is no mention of a Nest in the media, strangely there is a picture on the site of the crane owner sans nest some days newer than mine with also no mention, claiming just it was in the TV how storks sit on it to find nesting places elsewhere? /

It seems they make them selves at home easily.

The Stork project on the Affenberg is a long time tourist attraction as well as species rescue efford not totally uncontroversial. Wild storks nesting on and around their nest pole and roof rider constuctions are feed year round and there is a hospital where injured storks that come from far away are helped and learn that this is the true land schlaraffia to settle at. It is attracting really many storks and as the food offerings grow with the headcount they do not seriously pester each other to leave again. Any possible new nesting space near the feeding area is very high in demand -- They are just like humans that, although no paupers, take to squatting whilst looking for a downtown flat at an attractive major metropole. Guess the crane stood unused all of the weekend and by Sunday noon there was a nest on it, just like so. Now in germany this means after the law, you can forget about building on or moving your crane until the storklets are fledged in July or August. Yet, in this case one and a half weeks later there was no nest on it, the underpinnings for rooftiles almost ready and nobody mentioning anywhere online there ever was a nest on this crane..... the news segment on TV claimed Storks just sit there to survey...
