Somewhat controversial if it does any good we have those rustbuckets all over the region, but even in case they do not really help with the wine and apples, they warn the housewives of the incomming storms so more of us will get all laundry and lawnchair topper into the house in time. / Es ist nicht unumstritten ob die rostenden Teile ueberall in der Region wirklich die Wein und Apfelernte schuetzen, aber zumindest warnen sie die Hausfrauen vor dem Sturm, und wir schaffen es leichter, rechtzeitig die Waesche und Gartenmoebelauflagen hereinzuholen. |

Fun little wives-tale, though ;) A nice capture, too....
Some prominent meteorologiste in Australia around 1900 shot with such a cone into a sky sporting just a few nice featery good weather clouds and it rained finally -- but only several weeks afterwards. So the poor weatherman was faced with ridicule. But someone shooting at a heavy cloud at danger of hail with such a thing made it to become just a regular rain, and ever since it just works most of the time at hail prevention although there is no scientific proof.... no idea if that story is correct, or at least the first part, it is a tale I once heared from a supporter of the things.
