Has a dreamy quality to it with everything being just out of focus.... Neat =)

Its a cropped handheld 300mm zoom shot near sunset, they get usually "dreamy"or worse for detail, but I was still impressed to see the buildings on the main peak so well lit from the side with the binocs in spite of mist and warm hues, and tried to take a shot. ;o)

In the analog era, we took soft-focus shots with a piece of muslin over the lens. But this new method is effective too!

Remelt, you never ever did need any muslin in an october evening when the fog creeps in and you shoot someting near the horizon in "infinity"distance also with analog cameras. -- LOL

Not that my analog photography was very good ever, but when I was young there was just no digital either. I never tried those "hamilton softness" effect shots of kids and kittens tho' , only shot through the mesh window of our tent or through those silly firmly installed window bug nets in homes while we resided in the USA and had to live with the fog-like results that at times did look more decorative than clear ones perhaps, but always where less good in a documentary sense than the binocs see.

I am not proud of most of my my pics of the time, the shooting to little frames of any scene and drugstore developing to cut down costs makes for few memory shots worth sharing at all. :o(

Anyway I am glad to be rid of my last analog camera, some Minolta Maxxum, since we went back home to germany in 2003. The thing did a lot automated already, but it had nerdy noise signals not to eliminate, the kind that makes strangers eye you grumpyly when in a public hide or a church, peacefully sleeping infants and pets to wake up at the first pic and lets just not mention allert wild animals... Also it ate no-refill expensive special batteries like mad, sort of affordable film was only to get in ISO 100, and finally the scanner lost even more details of the shots. Rest assured, I really do not miss the analog times at all.... :o(

A very nice autumnal atmosphere.
