Gallows Hill / Galgenbichl

Supposed to be so full of evil spiritual energy that the compas needle can't find any rest -- according to some esotheric websites. I think the powerline nearby might just have something to do with the mysterious effects.
And for "Hangman's Daughter" mystery book series fans: The beheading of the gal that killed her baby set in book #1 as Jacob Kuisl's childhood memory of his dad's work, well, that's not really known in any detail, but the beheading itself is historic, and it happened just up there.
-------------------

Wonderful simplicity to the shot.... Beautiful tones, too. Odd superstition, though ;)

Not all that odd, I fear, in adition of this having been a medieval execution site where several sentences are well documented, much later in 1970 an awful murder happened at the base of this little peak, some poland-german aging people, still living in the barracks they had been housed in after being evicted after WWII, did kill each other one day. The 4 men and two women corpses where found after some time, it is said one of them shot everyone else, including his wife, and finally himself. The killer and his spouse are supposed to have gone gradually a tad strange and suspected the others housed with them to be spies, as the story goes.... an other really a sad and creepy story centuries after the executions. So the idea that something is amiss with the location aquired a little following. But it is in fact a nice vantage point to see the landscape. Some folks just visit for it's an overlook with a bench and they seem not to feel anything as long they are not aware of the history.

Yeah, I guess that kind of brutality can taint the land.... But the power of suggestion can be equally powerful ;)
