Hopefully this cute little guy is just a pet of someone who works at the restaurant! ;o)

I very much daubt it is food stored alive, but I also daubt it is anyones personal beloved pet. It is just one of several bunnies in boxes under the eaves facing the beergarden and childrens play area of an alpine touristic restaurant.

I guess it's all about the rural touch and so-called family fun, those animals work hard as draw and lure for kids in a place where lifts and trails meet and there are 3 restaurants within a half kilometre to choose from, one more about modern cusine and stylish comfort in a climatized environment, the second more old fashioned and about charming rustical flair in a super location. Both do not really advertise with a special childrens menue so I guess that is where Melkboden has their market, the folks that need to stuff several mouths with fries or pasta and soft drinks fast. Little cute life critters should be an immense help to make up for all possible view, kitchen and style deficites compared to the rest and attract just the right audience.

Very interesting. So, it's like a miniature zoo, for kids to come and see the bunnies and hopefully draw some more business in for the restaurant. A good marketing idea, for sure! Thank you for explaining it a bit more to me.

The bunny is likely glad it is behind bars so it is not treated like a stuffed faux fur critter by all the little strangers. Restaurant mascot can be a hard job.
