2004 German Night
Aintree Barracks, Saturday 14th August;

an evening of entertainment in the form of all things German (well nearly all)

was arranged by Steve Brisk, with John Stanson in support.

The evening started with everyone enjoying FREE drinks, German beer, Schnapps and nibbles a plenty; generously provided by Merseysound, productions and staging, who were our sponsors for the event.

We then enjoyed various German recordings of artists like Johnny Cash, Petula Clark and Connie Frances to name but a few; and yes they were all singing in German. There was also music from Oompah bands and a number of German Beer Sing-A-Long songs. An hour or so into the evening we were superbly entertained for the rest of the evening and well into the small hours, by a live band the 'NARKS'; I am told they argue amongst themselves a lot! The Chefs for the event were Ted Littler and Steve Brisk who put together a selection of Bokwurst, Pommes Frites, Frikadelen and salad, along with a truly excellent Curry (I wonder who cooked that). Amongst the raffle prizes was an assortment of German wines, Beer Steins, German side caps, German Vodka and a couple of pieces of masonry from the Berlin Wall; complete with a numbered Certificate.

Our thanks must go to Ted Littler and his good lady Brenda who managed the bar.

A big 'thank you' to our sponsors for the event Merseysound Productions...

A special 'thank you' to 59 Signal Squadron for allowing us to hold such an enjoyable event.

Yet another good time was enjoyed by all.
