Thanks Sonja, this is near the top of the Boston Mountains of the Ozarks, north Arkansas. A great National Forest. The beginning of a series which will follow. And it did rain!

Let us not look into that can of worms except to say, yes, all of the mentioned are down there, and probably the Tasmanian devil. Just waiting to make me a one meal, Blue Plate Special, should I ever descend into their abyss !

You probaply got jackalopes, hodawgs, fur-bearing trouts and similar cryptozoological wonders there, but tasmanian devil? Is that not supposed to live in australia?

Oh, those.... yes, I remember dimmly some appalachian tourist attraction with a pen of reverted domestic pig... just as charming as propper boar with no domestic history, only cute if you stand securely behind a fence, best up wind. ;o)
