Okayama 11/06
November in Okayama. These pictures don't capture everything we did, but they get close. Brian had a cooking day with some of his ichi-nensei students. They made Creme de Menthe Cheesecake, which turned out horribly because there wasn't proper time or equipment to whip the egg whites into the right consistency, nor to bake the cheesecake and allow it to cool. Oh well, the kids still thought it was cool to have made something kind of western.
We went shopping at the giant Aeon Mall in Kurashiki, with our friend Britt. We all donned antlers in obnoxious Xmas spirit, and roamed aimlessly through the department store. We also had our picture taken with a giant milk jug... We don't know what that's about either. We ate at Pizza King a couple times in November. It's the best pizza in the prefecture, and is a favorite of JETs all around. We hit it twice for a general gathering and for Boone's b-day. It's owned and operated by an Iranian, and it has very distinct decor. Brian found a house by our apt. that had more xmas decorations than many homes in Georgia. And there was also a big karaoke night, followed by the first annual Okayama JET trivia night. Team Sekushi (katakana "sexy") & Derishisu (katakana "delicious"), made up of Jenn, Lauren, Zet, and Brian came in a close second place. Finally, we got some decorations up for xmas, including a tree we got for Y1000!
