Okayama 9/06
Pics from around Okayama, in September. Sept. marked our first visit to the famous Korakuen garden, one of Japan's 3 most highly prized gardens. It is indeed gorgeous, and you can cool your feet in the spring water that flows through it.

Jenn also began teaching at her disabled school, Yogogakko, this month. She says the kids are really sweet, and that the staff there is incredibly dedicated and caring. She really likes working there.

At the end of the month we up to Soja, just northwest of Okayama-shi, to ride the Kibi Bike trail. It's a nice, flat, paved, trail that takes you through some lovely rice fields and historical temples. You end at the Kibitsu Shrine, revered across Japan but, sadly covered in renovating tarps. While we couldn't see the outside, we got a lovely tour of the grounds. It was very idyllic and relaxing.

The bike trail is a nice thing to do on a cool, sunny, Fall day. I imagine such is true in the spring. If you visit us when the weather is right we just might take you there. Lucky You.
