Not that I doubt your ID 'cause you were there and I wasn't, but, ummm.... That tree should have dark red-purple leaves.... Similar to, but darker than, this one.... Am I just blind?

well, there was a sign mentioning the tree and its age....maybe the leaves look more redish from the other side....thin is from under the tree...

and spring leaves are less red....the color comes with summer?

No.... The leaves come in dark... No green to the leaves of the tree at all -- from above or below. Maybe they have the cultivar wrong -- the species is right, though. I mean, there is no mistaking purpurea for anything else.

I wonder, if those green leaves on the right side and in the back are from different trees...

Could be you were just shooting the lower-mid level branches and didn't get any of the canopy in frame? You shot this, only you would know ;)
