Maybe this one is of interest as a follow up on the tryptichon assignment.

Good idea!

How did you do that? I can think of different ways.

Hi Rolf.

Well, I took (after complete pre-planning how the result was supposed to look like) 4 photos, framed them by just extending the image a bit to all sides, and reduced size considerably. So I had a set of 4 electronic "prints".

I then took each of them as a separate lyer, aligned them roughly, but not preceisely and shifted them so that they roughly fit together. So far I did it al in GIMP-based Seashore (which I happen to love for it's native Aqua unterface and the almost complete lack of sudden terminations that the Mac version suffers). The darker corners come from Lightroom "Clarity" slider which increases kinda local contrast.

This is a test run. I plan to do some panoramics that way. See, I hate stitching. Not only from the technology involved but also from a creative pov. Nevertheless I want to overcome the usual 3:2 aspect ratio. Maybe I will take polaroid framing next time ;-)

Best,
Dirk
