Am unteren Ende dieser Kette hängt ein Gewicht, dass wiederum ein Uhrwerk antreibt. Das Uhrwerk treibt aber keine Uhr sondern das Linsen- Spiegelsystem an, das sich um die Lampe dreht. Obwohl das mehr als eine Tonne wiegt, ist es so genial gelagert, dass man es mit einem Finger in Bewegung setzen kann.
At the lower end of this chain is a weight which drives a clockwork. The clockwork doesn't drive a clock but the system of lenses and mirrors which is turning around the lamp. This is mounted so properly that you can turn it with just one finger although it weights more than a ton. |
