Huh? It's well known that most politicians during their career start to resemble the one gargoyle or the other, but the other way is unlikely. Is this a rather recent artwork?

Many are fifteenth or sixteenth century, though this may have been added later.
But they say everyone has a double somewhere. Doppelganger.

Well, his formal but rather plain and smal collar with the fly looks sort of 19-20th century. It might be that fashion has been there before indeed, but the semblance to any modern suit wearer is easier with this than if there where a lot of ruffles.
