So this is where the bard wrote down
Those words of Greasy Joan's poor frown
With keeling pots both day and night
Without so much as drink or bite.

Old Joan, she has a buxom figure
And keels those pots with lusty vigour,
Listening for the night owl's call,
When Tom will sneak in from the hall.

They sup on milk from frozen pail,
And fill their jugs with home-brewed ale,
Then cut her pie in hearty slabs
And feast themselves on roasted crabs.
