Crookers + The Bloody Beetroots + Congorock @ Mezzanine
Congorock was already playing when we entered.
He played a pretty good set, getting the crowd gradually pumped before the much hyped electro-punk The Bloody Beetroots came on stage, when EVERYONE rushed the stage.
This is when everyone started getting ready for the mayhem that ensued.
A great selection of tracks made for an epic, energy draining show, complete with mosh pits, people trying to surf (with some not-so-pretty results) at a club, and the usual front-row-takes-over-stage antics that The Bloody Beetroots are getting known for.
Crookers came next, killing it with some good mixing into a weird maelstrom of tracks (although I was pissed when they started doing some banjo based country; you could tell that one of the members of Crookers was like "What the hell are you doing?," laughing).
Other than that, a great show by Crookers mixing some dubstep in with their usual electro-hop ish like "Knobbers." They also mixed some Benga, Diplo and Mr. Oizo (Bruce Willis Is Dead), which seem to be in most electro mixes these days.
By the end of the night, this is how the run down went:
My shirt is completely drenched in sweat.
Crookers thought I was on heroin.
Congorock is a bro.
Bob Rifo gave props on the energy.
Dance Girl thought I was cute.
Unbelievable show.
