Sparrows are beautiful birds in their own subtle way.

Yes, they are. And they are not so common any longer in Sweden.

That's true in England, too. When I look out of my window I'm much more likely to see a blue tit than a sparrow, and that never used to be so.

Here the tree sparrow is a lot more common now a days than she house sparrow. And no one seems to know exactly why. The blue tit and the great tit moves in to the gardens in great numbers in the winter. Now they "hide" in the forrests.
