Full spectrum color, high definition photo…

✏ The first bridge on this site was constructed in 1841, was replaced in 1867, and again due to law changes regarding bridge heights in NYC in 1897. The Harlem River Lift Bridge, opened to traffic in 1956, is the fourth rail bridge on this site. It is a four-track (two parallel double-track spans), vertical lift bridge carrying the Metro-North Railroad's Hudson Line, Harlem Line, and New Haven Line across the Harlem River between the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx in New York City. The bridge has a 340 ft. span and 25 ft. clearance when closed & 135 ft. when open. The bridge underwent massive renovations which were completed in 2016. Seven hundred commuter trains pass over the bridge each day with an average ridership of 265K passengers.

Great looking bridge.

Looks good, but it has a structural integrity and condition rating of "poor".... But, then again, so do most of NYC's other aging bridges, unfortunately.
