Nice Bronze
▬▬▬▬▬▬ 154 Sullivan St. @ West Houston St., Greenwich Village , Manhattan, NYC, NY. Full spectrum color, high definition photo… ✎ The Church of St. Anthony of Padua was designed by English-born architect Arthur Crook. It would be the first church constructed by an Italian community in the United States. The granite faced Romanesque building -- reminiscent of buildings Italians remembered from their homeland -- was completed in 1888. The Church of St. Anthony of Padua is still run by the Franciscan brothers and while its congregation is more ethnically mixed, the annual Feast of Saint Anthony goes on -- which was memorialized in the movie “The Godfather.” ✎ The pictured bronze is attached to the Sullivan St. brick façade. |
